A famous quote often attributed to Richard Feynman states, "If you want to master something, teach it.”

This past weekend I had the opportunity to travel to West Palm Beach, FL to help teach a two-day course from the Institute for Athlete Regeneration (IAR) for physical therapists (PTs) and athletic trainers (ATs) to learn about advanced treatment strategies for athletes dealing with pain and injury!

The course was hosted at an awesome clinic called Athlete Restoration Co. (shoutout to Dr. Kyle Volstad who is an incredibly high-achieving PT and instructor) and consisted of PTs/ATs from all over the country coming together to learn advanced clinical reasoning, evaluation, and treatment techniques.

The opportunity to help assist with teaching the course was part of the current manual therapy fellowship program that I have been going through over the past few years, and it was such an honor to be helping to teach other providers who already work with top-end professional/college athletes - we had providers in attendance who work for the following teams/athletes:

*Team USA Track & Field

*United States Tennis Association Pro Training Center

*Miami Heat NBA Team

*Atlanta Hawks NBA Team

*University of Georgia Women’s Soccer

*Dartmouth Football, Basketball, and Track & Field

The course focused on teaching about how providers can improve both their effectiveness and efficiency not only with diagnosing the underlying root cause of an injury, but also how to improve their ability to get patients better faster with a combination of manual therapy techniques and targeted exercises!

The name of the game is for clinicians to constantly be working to improve their craft - and that’s what I’m all about!

The content that I was helping to teach consisted of many of the same exact techniques that I use on a daily basis with my clients to help them through our 3 step process at AWAKEN to:

  1. Investigate the Root Cause - I aim to discover why the injury even occurred in the first place…not simply just tell someone what body part is injured!

  1. Prevent Recurrence - how often is this forgotten about in the medical field!?

  1. AWAKEN FULL POTENTIAL - the goal is to help teach people the tools to reach their highest athletic and functional potential…simple as that!

It has been such an honor to continue developing my expertise through the IAR Fellowship while also simultaneously being able to assist with teaching at the university and post-doctorate level!

And if you have been struggling with a nagging pain or injury (especially if you’ve gone to another medical provider and have been frustrated by the lack of personalized care, attention to detail, or just a sub-par overall experience…trust me, I have been there as a patient also), then AWAKEN is for you!

Start by clicking the link below to fill out our contact form -

From there, I promise to personally reach out to set up a time for a completely free 15-20 min phone consultation where we can dive into the background of your pain/injury and give you all the details about our specialized services.

Next,  we’ll set up a time for you to come in for a full 60min, one-on-one evaluation where we will leave no stone unturned in understanding your situation and developing an individualized plan moving forward!

So what are you waiting for!?
