Olympic Track & Field Trials!

Who else is getting hyped to watch the top American track and field athletes contend for a spot in the Paris Olympic Games this summer!?

The U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials start TODAY and here at AWAKEN Performance Rehab, we’re excited to experience all the action!

Read below to find out more info on everything you need to know for the Trials:

When/where they are happening: The Trials are 10 days long beginning on Friday June 21st (today!) and finishing on Sunday June 30th. They’re taking place at the historic Hayward Field in Eugene, OR; a.k.a “TrackTown USA.” You can find a schedule of events here– Schedule | USA Track & Field

How to watch: Every moment of the Trials will be streamed through Peacock, and the TV broadcasting schedule can be found via this link– How to watch the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials for the 2024 Paris Olympics: TV and stream info, schedule

Who will be competing: The best track and field athletes in the country! We even have a former client of Dr. Greg’s who will compete in the women’s 3000m Steeplechase! This event in particular will be extra thrilling, not only because we get to watch a former client contend for an Olympic spot, but also due to the fact that the event is deemed as “wide open” for Olympic qualification due to the recent growth in competitiveness of the event as well as top Americans Emma Coburn and Courtney Frerichs sitting out from injuries. For a complete Trials status of entries list, click here– Status of Entries | USA Track & Field. If you’d like to read up on the latest news on the Trials and more details on some of the athletes competing, Citius Mag is a great resource– 2024 U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials

The Olympic Trials is a display of the best athletes in the country contending for Olympic spots and celebrating all the hard work they did to get to that point. There is so much behind-the-scenes that goes into each athlete’s ability to compete on the biggest stage– not just running (or jumping or throwing), but also training regimens that include things such as drills, strength training, form-correction, lifting, plyometrics, mental training, and all the recovery things such as sleep, nutrition, hydration, rehab, blood flow restriction (BFR) therapy, and cupping. These elite athletes are constantly building their life around what they need to do to get the most out of themselves in their sport.

At AWAKEN Performance Rehab, we help athletes and active adults get the most of themselves and AWAKEN THEIR POTENTIAL by offering services including physical therapy, strength and conditioning, 3-Dimensional running analysis, and run coaching.

If you need help getting out of pain, recovering from injury, improving your athletic ability, and AWAKENING your potential, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us by clicking the link below to fill out a form and schedule a completely FREE phone consultation with us!
